Sugarite Canyon
Master of the Mountains
Challenge yourself in this fun, four-part adventure relay in the mountains of northern New Mexico. This annual event includes a 10K trail run, a 3-mile paddle course around Lake Maloya, a 20-mile bicycle route and a shotgun shoot. Much of the event takes place in Sugarite Canyon State Park. Participants are required to attend orientation the evening of Sept. 7, 2018. To register, visit ratonmom.com

Sugarite Halloween Trail
Sign up your family for this fun, non-scary Halloween Trail event. Kids meet costumed characters like "Black Bear," "Mountain Lion," "Bat," and "Ghost Coal Miner." Children get free activities to take home. The event wraps up with popcorn and apple cider. Space is limited so sign up soon!

First Day Hike
Start the New Year with an easy to moderate, 1.5-mile hike along Chicorica Creek. We'll explore part of the Lake-to-Lake Trail, including a large beaver complex. Wear warm clothes and good walking shoes. Afterward, drive up to Lake Maloya to watch the Polar Bear Plunge at 1 p.m.!
