Live Raptor Presentation
Bottomless Lakes State Park will be hosting a free live raptor presentation on Sunday, February 24th at 11 a.m. at Lea Lake Pavilion. This special opportunity is provided by Laura McCann of the non-profit New Mexico Raptors organization. Come see native birds of prey such as hawks and owls up close! Learn about these amazing creatures as well as their important role in our unique desert environment. New Mexico Raptors is a non-profit organization started in 2006 that presents live bird educational programs all over the state using three non-releasable presentation birds: a Red-tailed Hawk, a Turkey Vulture, and a Great Horned Owl. There is no fee for this program other than the $5.00 per vehicle day-use fee or camping fees for those who are staying at the park. For more information, call the park at (575) 457-2384 or Allison Leimer at (575)-887-5516.
