Star Party
Join the Clovis Astronomy Club for a night of star gazing on May 4, 2019. This will take place in the visitor center parking lot at dusk. Regular entrance fees apply for non-annual permit holders. All ages are invited to attend. No pets will be allowed at this event. Bring your binoculars, telescopes, red lense flashlights, etc. if you have them and enjoy a night of learning under the stars.

Caballo Lake State Park is proud to announce that it will be conducting "Courtesy Recreational Boat Safety Inspections" in conjunction with National Boat Safety Week. Inspections will take place in the upper parking lot in route to the boat ramp. Staff will be on site to answer any boating or park questions you may have.

World Migratory Bird Day Festival
Ever seen a hawk up close and personal? Or enjoyed doughnuts and coffee while watching several bird species at a nearby bird feeder? Or taken part in an easy walk for beginning birders? These experiences will be on hand for the World Migratory Bird Day Festival at Sugarite Canyon State Park. A schedule of event times and locations will be available at the park Visitor Center.

The Sugarite Fishing Derby is a nine-day fishing extravaganza at Sugarite Canyon State Park! Registered anglers fish at Lake Maloya for tagged trout, to get a chance at cash prizes up to $1,000. And every registered participant gets a chance at a 14-foot V-hull Lowe boat and trailer! Registration is $10 per person. There are daily door prizes, as well as a Kids' Derby that will take place on Saturday, June 1.
