Polar Bear Challenge and Stomp
Start 2019 off with a Plunge! Join us for the annual Polar bear Challenge and Polar Bear Stomp at Eagle Nest Lake State Park on New Year's Day! 9 AM registration begins for: • 10 AM Polar Bear Plunge - Orientation at 9:45 AM • 11 AM Polar Bear Stomp Cookies and hot chocolate will be served throughout morning.

Eagle Nest Lake
First Day Hike!
Be a part of something big in 2019! Start off the New Year with a snow shoe hike along the lake shore! Hike will take approximately one hour. Return to Visitor Center for hot chocolate and cookies following hike. Sponsors: Moreno Valley Trekkers and Friends of Eagle Nest Lake and Cimarron Canyon State Parks

Sugarite Canyon
First Day Hike
Start the New Year with an easy to moderate, 1.5-mile hike along Chicorica Creek. We'll explore part of the Lake-to-Lake Trail, including a large beaver complex. Wear warm clothes and good walking shoes. Afterward, drive up to Lake Maloya to watch the Polar Bear Plunge at 1 p.m.!
