State Park Restrictions

OHV's, ATV's and Dirt bikes are not allowed within park boundries. For information on approved areas and trails in which to recreate, you can visit the Cibola National Forest website at https://www.fs.usda.gov/cibola/ or 5/1/2020 - ongoing
Stage II Fire Restrictions: Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire, charcoal, coal, or wood stove is prohibited. The use of devices fueled solely by liquid petroleum or LPG fuels that can be turned on and off is allowed. Such devices can only be used in an area that is barren or cleared of all overhead and surrounding flammable materials within three (3) feet of the device. Morphy Lake (575) 387-2328
Morphy Lake State Park remains closed due to construction on the DAM and within the park campground. The park will remain closed until work is complete and there is currently no set date to reopen the park. 4/30/2019 - ongoing

The Rio Grande Nature Center State Park does not allow pets in the park (except service animals.) You can however park in the RGNC parking lot for access to the the city of Albuquerque's Paseo Del Bosque trail. Day use fees apply. 9/15/2020 - 12/31/2020

Santa Rosa Lake (575) 472-3110
– Santa Rosa Lake State Park will close access to its boat ramp effective immediately. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers advised that low inflow of water combined with a planned release of water from Santa Rosa has drawdown the reservoir to extremely low levels. The closure will prevent property damage during launching and loading of boats; however, the lake remains open to recreation activities to include shoreline fishing, canoeing, kayaking and other paddle craft use. 9/30/2020 - ongoing
